Instruments of Birmingham
(2906 Linden Avenue, Homewood, Alabama 35209, (205) 879-6489
Established in 1974, they have grown to be the 2nd largest Martin guitar
dealer in the Southeast--that's where Don bought his mandolin, Greg bought
his Gibson banjo, and where Gary got his Collings D2H and Martin D17,
his Weber Yellowstone Mandolin and his dobro. A great selection of top
of the line acoustic guitars, Gibson banjos and lots of other instruments.
Plus, lessons and repairs, and frequent jam sessions. Tell Herb Trotman
we said "hey."

Another favorite spot
for us. It, too, is a great little store. Rumor is, Nancy's bass came
from there. Bob specializes in custom-made concertinas.
Birmingham NSAI group
The Birmingham chapter has their own website, where you can get information, network with local songwriters, and find out about what's going on in the NSAI community here.
NSAI Nashville Songwriters Association International
Gary is the central Alabama coordinator for The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), which consists of a body of creative minds, including songwriters from all genres of music, professional and amateur,
who are committed to protecting the rights and future of the profession of songwriting, and to educate, elevate, and celebrate the songwriter and to act as a unifying force within the music community and the community at large.
If you are a songwriter in country, folk, roots music, bluegrass or otherwise acoustic, you need to network with this group.
